Tablex
Tablex is a collaboration between Alex Garacotche of Voodoo Muzak and Alex McLean of slub. Garacotche plays processed drums, his software chopping up and restructuring his sound into fractured, impossible rhythms. McLean writes Perl software live according to the TOPLAP manifesto, working with his code as musical material, generating very live, improvised computer music.

Nullpointer
Tom Betts' relentless output speaks for itself. From the generative internet radio of the rand()% project, through hacked game environments, to incredible live PD sets, his work has received international praise.

AVA
AVA is the new project by Matt Gray, one of the 4 artists commissioned through the OS Audio programme. Having developed his first work with Fastracker, he is now working with Supercollider Server to produce a set which is partially generative, and part live-coded.

Sheffield's reputation for electronic music has been given a huge boost in recent months by the owrk of the c90 collective - organising some of the most interesting the nights the city has seen in recent years. Resident and co-promoter Juliun Ryan will be gracing the decks for us at f5.

Recent VGA resident, Jim Prevett, has been researching free Linux applications for editing video. We are very pleased that he will be showing some of his work at f5, in the midst of his busy commission schedule.
