Supercollider
Now open-source, Supercollider is realtime programming environment for sound and music. Matt Gray (recently commissioned in the OS Audio programme) will demonstrate a brief walkthough of its limitless capabilities.
Music production with internal midi
Recent commissioned to produce a piece for the OS Audio programme, Jake Harries will demonstrate the multi-track midi-sequencing software Rosegarden, and Specimen soft-sampler.
Fijuu
April's 'OS Audio' resident, Steven Pickles, will be demonstrating the Fijuu project, an interactive, audio-visual performance tool. He will be developing the audio engine during his time at Access Space.
Video editing on Linux
Recent Access Space artist in residence, video-artist jim Prevett, will be presenting his findings on the options for editing video with open-source software.
PHP graphics
PHP is an active server-side scripting language used widely in web-programming. This will be showing a slightly alternative application for the language, showing how he uses it to produce graphical artworks.
GIMP - image manipulation
Access Space's James Wallbank will introduce the flagship graphics software for Linux. An incredible, free alternative to Photoshop.
