Our access policy is simple - just walk in! Please understand that we're not just offering you email, webspace and help for nothing (you can get those things on the web for free) we're asking you to take part. That means we'd like you to propose a constructive online project (you tell us what it is - it could be simple or complex, silly or serious, fun or businesslike). We'd like it to be visible to other people, and be prepared to share information about what you're up to.
Our watchword is "Share what you know, learn what you don't." You can ask anyone in the space for help, and they'll be happy to point you in the right direction (if they know!). But there's a price - after a couple of weeks or so people will start asking you for help (perhaps with setting up their email, or configuring their desktop) and you must help if you can. If you'd prefer to just get on with your own thing behind closed doors, and not talk with anyone else about what you do, then perhaps Access Space is not for you.
So, don't just think what Access Space can do for you, think what you can do for Access Space!
If you want to learn about the internet, but you're completely stuck for ideas about what to do, try looking for inspiration at some of the sites developed at Access Space up until now - they're here!
Access Space is open 11am-7pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Please, call in any time!
If you'd like to speak with someone about taking part, your best bet is to talk with Ed, Tamar (that's Tamar as in Tamara, but without the 'a', NOT as in the river) or to James if he's around. Just walk in and ask for any of them - or talk with Richard if he's not busy in the office. Make sure that you get a cup of coffee or tea, as well!
To make sure that one of us can give you our full attention, you can always phone us first. Call Redundant Technology Initiative at Access Space on (0114) 2495522.
