Sheffield Simplex Car 1920

The Simplex was the most famous car made in Sheffield. It was a luxury car built to rival the Rolls Royce. Earl Fitzwilliam was the chairman of Sheffield Simplex Motor Works Ltd. He believed that Sheffield could produce the finest car in the world. They had a large purpose built factory in Tinsley. Between 1907 and 1920 they made around 1500 cars. The Simplex was prestigious and attracted the wealthy, nobility and celebrities as customers.
